The Multi-fuction Building
in R&D Center |
Bote's R&D Center covers
an area of 20,000spm and leads in development, study and application
of concrete external reactant, concrete admixture and concentrated
concrete, renovation of concrete, and durability evaluation and
life preevaluation of concrete. In 2002, the Center was entitled
as Liquid Macromolecule Building Materials & Engineering Technology
Research Center of Jiangsu Province and Concrete admixture Engineering
Technology Center of Nanjing by related administrations.

The R&D Center has tens of labs
including Macromolecular Chemosynthesis Lab, Macromolecular Chemistry
Lab, Macromolecular Structure Analysis Lab, Material Mechanical
Property Lab, Material Durability Lab, Material Cubic Deformation
Lab, and is well equipped with electro-hydraulic servo pressure
tester, universal tester, fatigue tester, carbonization tester,
concrete fast freezing-thawing tester, hydration heat tester, heat
insulation temperature rising tester, secular distortion property
automatic control and measurement system, infrared spectroscopic
analysis apparatus, gel liquid phase chromatograph, polarizing microscope
and etc. The R & D Center can do material preparation, performance
test, structure analysis, material durability test and failure mechanism
study and so on.

With outstanding professionals (one
post-doctor, 9 doctors, 24 masters, 12 senior engineers as well
as 22 engineers included), the Center has undertaken multiple national
key research subjects including Key Sustentation Projects of National
Natural Science Funds and has won multiple prizes issued by related
institutions and administrations.

Since 1990s, many products have titled
as being National Key New Products. In 1999, the project ‘Preparation
and Failure Mechanism Study in High-performance Cement Construction
Material’ was supported by National Natural Science Fund. In 2002,
the project ‘Polyocarboxy Acid Concrete Reinforcing Agent and Environment-friendly
Production’ was listed in Sustentation Projects of Innovation Fund
for Small Technology-based Firms by the Ministry of Science &
Technology of P. R. China. In 2003, the project ‘Research and Application
Study in Self-compacted High-performance Concrete’ was listed in
State “Torch Plan”.

The R&D Center has had
close cooperation with Tsinghua University, Southeast University,
Nanjing University of Technology, Hohai University, China Institute
of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, China Building Materials
Academy, Michigan University, US, Dow Chemical Company in academic
and technological exchange. Many celebrated experts and specialists
are advisors of the R&D Center.
Up to now, the R&D Center, in association with Southeast University
has educated 4 doctors. Based on cooperation with Southeast University
and Nanjing University, Bote has finished many applied research
on multiple large-scale projects, such as Jiangsu Runyang Changjiang
River Bridge, West Lake Front Tunnel, Hangzhou Gulf Bridge and etc.
The R & D Center periodically sends elites to USA,Holland, Canada
and Japan to further studies.
