    Miao Changwen

    Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor and Doctoral Supervisor Professor Miao is a recipient of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation and the Fourth National Outstanding Professional and Technical Talent Award. He has been recognized as one of Jiangsu Province’s Top Ten Outstanding Patent Inventors and is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council. He has also been honored as an Outstanding Returned Overseas Scholar of Jiangsu Province, one of Nanjing’s Top Ten Scientific and Technological Contributors, a Jiangsu Provincial Model Worker, and a recipient of the inaugural Jiangsu Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Award.

    Academic Appointments:

    Member of the Management and Decision-Making Committee of the International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures (RILEM); Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ACI China Chapter; Vice President of the China Building Materials Federation.

    Major Academic Achievements:
    Professor Miao has devoted his career to theoretical research and engineering applications in civil engineering materials and has remained actively involved in major engineering construction projects in China for more than two decades. He has led or participated in more than 30 national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects, including projects under the National 973 Program and key projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

    His research has generated significant advances in key technologies for controlling concrete cracking, improving the service life and durability of major infrastructure, and developing multifunctional civil engineering materials. These technologies have been successfully validated through their application in major engineering projects, making significant contributions to the development of China’s infrastructure.

    He has received three Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award, and seven First Prizes of provincial- and ministerial-level science and technology awards. He holds 83 granted Chinese invention patents, has authored four monographs, and has published more than 200 academic papers, including more than 150 indexed by SCI, EI, or ISTP.

    Liu Jiaping

    Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, Southeast University Professor Liu serves as Director of the National Key Laboratory of Materials for Major Infrastructure Engineering. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National May 1st Labor Medal, and the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award. He is also a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council.

    Academic Appointments:
    Vice President of the China Concrete and Cement Products Association; Deputy Director of the Science, Technology and Education Committee of the China Building Materials Federation; Deputy Chair of the National Technical Committee on Concrete Standardization; Fellow of the Institute of Concrete Technology, UK.

    Major Academic Achievements:
    Professor Liu has long focused on two core areas of research: shrinkage crack control and ultra-high-performance concrete. By incorporating factors related to concrete structures and construction practices, he has further developed the theoretical framework for shrinkage crack control in modern concrete. He has invented a series of functional civil engineering materials and established three key technology platforms covering shrinkage reduction and crack resistance, enhancement of mechanical properties, and rheological performance control.

    These technologies have been successfully applied in more than 110 major engineering projects, including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Taihu Tunnel.

    As the first inventor, he holds more than 90 granted invention patents, including 14 international patents. He has received one China Patent Silver Award and five China Patent Excellence Awards, and holds 11 software copyrights. He has published more than 200 SCI/EI-indexed papers, authored one monograph, and served as a lead or contributing editor for 22 standards and technical specifications. His research achievements have received one Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award and four Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

    Ran Qianping

    Chief Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, Southeast University Professor Ran is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has been selected for the National Ten-Thousand Talents Program, the National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project, the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Young and Middle-aged Leading Scientists and Technological Innovation Talents Program, and the first-tier training program of Jiangsu Province’s “333 Project.”

    He is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, the Qiu Shi Science and Technologies Award for Young Scientists and Technicians, and the China Youth Science and Technology Award. He has also been recognized as a National Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Expert and a National Model Worker in the Construction Industry, and has received numerous other honors, including the Jiangsu Innovation and Entrepreneurship Medal, the Jiangsu Award for Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Experts, the Jiangsu Top Ten Young Science and Technology Stars, and the Nanjing Science and Technology Contributor Award.

    Major Academic Achievements:
    Professor Ran has long been engaged in the research and development of advanced functional construction chemical materials, including chemical admixtures, protective and repair materials, and advanced coating materials. He has led more than 30 research projects at various levels, including projects funded by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Key R&D Program, and the National 973 Program.

    He has received one Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award, one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, five First Prizes of provincial- and ministerial-level science and technology awards, one China Patent Silver Award, four China Patent Excellence Awards, and the Jiangsu Patent Inventor Award.

    As the first inventor, he holds 68 granted Chinese invention patents and four international patents. He has published more than 200 academic papers, including more than 100 indexed by SCI, and has served as a lead or contributing editor for eight standards.

    His research achievements have been applied in more than 100 major national projects, including the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, Three Gorges Dam, and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.


    Hong Jinxiang

    General Manager of Jiangsu Sobute New Materials Co., Ltd.; Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory of Materials for Major Infrastructure Engineering; Research Professor-level Senior Engineer Professor Hong has been selected as a Leading Scientific and Technological Innovation Talent under China’s National Ten-Thousand Talents Program and as an outstanding young or middle-aged expert under the National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project. He is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council and the Second Xplorer Prize. He has also received numerous honors, including the National Award for Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Experts, the Jiangsu Youth Science and Technology Award, the Youth Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Ceramic Society, and the Jiangsu May 1st Labor Medal.

    Major Academic Achievements:

    Professor Hong’s research focuses primarily on the research, development, commercialization, and application of advanced materials for transportation infrastructure. He has led or participated in more than 40 research projects, including projects under the National Key R&D Program, the National 973 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Western China Transportation Science and Technology Program, major research and development projects of the former Ministry of Railways, and key technology projects for major national infrastructure such as the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and the Sutong Bridge.

    His research achievements have been extensively applied in China’s high-speed railway, highway, and bridge projects, generating significant economic and social benefits. He has received one Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award and one China Patent Excellence Award, as well as three provincial- and ministerial-level science and technology awards. He holds more than 60 granted Chinese invention patents and has published more than 100 academic papers.

    Tian Qian

    Deputy Chief Engineer and Research Professor-level Senior Engineer, Jiangsu Sobute New Materials Co., Ltd.; Ph.D., Southeast University Dr. Tian completed her postdoctoral research at Purdue University and the Technical University of Denmark. She is an expert member of the RILEM Development Advisory Committee, an expert committee member of the Expansive Concrete Division of the China Concrete and Cement Products Association, and a registered consulting expert in Jiangsu Province.She has been honored as a National March 8th Red-Banner Holder, one of Jiangsu Province’s Top Ten Young Science and Technology Stars, and a young and middle-aged leading talent under Jiangsu Province’s “333 Project.” She has also been recognized as an Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Expert of Jiangsu Province and Nanjing. She was an Olympic torchbearer for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

    Major Academic Achievements:
    Dr. Tian’s research focuses on concrete shrinkage and cracking, self-compacting high-performance concrete, and high-performance grouting materials. She has led or participated in more than 40 research projects, including projects under the National 973 Program and projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

    She has received one Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award, three Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, two First Prizes, three Second Prizes, and two Third Prizes of provincial- and ministerial-level science and technology awards.

    She has published more than 100 academic papers, including more than 70 indexed by SCI or EI. She holds 49 granted Chinese invention patents, including two patents granted in the United States and Japan. She has contributed to four industry standards and technical specifications and has organized four international doctoral courses.

    Liu Jianzhong​

    Deputy Chief Engineer and Research Professor-level Senior Engineer, Jiangsu Sobute New Materials Co., Ltd. Professor Liu is an Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Expert under the National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project, a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, and a Young and Middle-aged Leading Scientist in Scientific and Technological Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has also been selected as a Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Leader under Jiangsu Province’s “333 Project,” a Young and Middle-aged Technical and Academic Leader of Nanjing, and a Young and Middle-aged High-Level Talent of Nanjing. He is a recipient of the Fourth Xplorer Prize, the Jiangsu Youth Science and Technology Award, and the Youth Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Ceramic Society. He serves as Vice Chairman of the China Concrete and Cement Products Association’s divisions for Ultra-High-Performance Cementitious Materials and Engineering Technology, and for Concrete Materials and Engineering Testing. He was also Head of the Chinese Technical Expert Group for the Concrete Construction event at the 45th and 46th WorldSkills Competitions.

    Major Academic Achievements:

    Professor Liu’s research focuses on the rheology, reinforcement, toughening, and durability of high-performance and ultra-high-performance concrete. He has led or participated in more than 30 research projects, including projects under the National 973 Program, the National Key R&D Program, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

    His research has helped resolve numerous technical challenges encountered in major national projects, including the Sutong Bridge, Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, Suzhou Metro, and the Nanjing Yangtze River Fifth Bridge.

    His research achievements have received three Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and eight provincial- and ministerial-level Grand Prizes or First Prizes. He has published more than 90 SCI/EI-indexed papers, holds more than 80 granted patents, and has contributed to 18 national and industry standards.
